Wherever we’ve traveled in Mexico, we’ve always been fascinated by the ruins of the cities and shrines built by the Maya and other cultures. While we find some aspects of the culture (like human sacrifice) distasteful, we are amazed at the level of scientific sophistication achieved so long ago.
There are a lot of ruins that we would like to visit but haven’t seen to date. We hear stories of places like Palenque and Tikal in Guatemala and the 6-foot tall masks at Kohunlich. One day we expect to visit all those and hopefully more.
In the attached links, you will see some photos of some of the ruins that we have visited. Places like Chichen Itza, Uxmal, Izamal, Tulum, Coba, San Gervasio and even some un-named sites that are viewed from the roadside. We’ll try to give you an idea of what you will find there and even a few tips on how to make your visit more enjoyable.
